To ensure maximum comfort and benefit after your waxing treatment, it's important to follow the steps below at home:
* Avoid applying heat to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours.
This includes hot baths, sauna, and steam.
* The first time you shower after you waxing procedure, use an antibacterial cleanser, on the waxed area(s).
Be sure to wait at least 24hrs or your skin will feel like you had a sunburn. This could make your skin more irritated
* Pinking of the skin usually disappears within 6 to 8 hours after the waxing treatment. Slight pinking is normal.
Welting or swelling is also normal and should go away within a few hours.
* For a first time waxing, when it has been more than a couple of months since shaving, there can be discomfort
for 3 to 5 days. Taking a bath in Epsom Salts can help reduce skin irritation and discomfort.
* Break outs afterwards are common. Use an alcohol free "anti-acne" wipe following the treatment, and twice a day
until breakouts are gone. Or you can use Witch Hazel with a cotton round. This will help to keep bacteria down.
* Avoid applying highly fragranced products to the waxed area. This includes, perfume, scented body lotions,
anti-perspirants, cosmetics, or hygiene sprays. Your are best to leave your skin dry and clean. Letting the pores breath.
Try to keep the area dry and do not wear lace underwear.
* Avoid using harsh abrasives or exfoliants in the waxed area. However if you are prone to in-grown hairs, the day after
your waxing treatment, lightly exfoliate waxed area with a loofah, or other mechanical exfoliant to avoid future problems.
If ingrown hairs become a problem you can try PFB Vanish.
This product will travel deeper into the hair follicle digesting in the intra-cellular debris produced by the follicle that
are trapping the hairs under the skin.
* Avoid sun tanning for 12 to 24 hours. This includes any strong ultraviolet (UV) light exposure or tanning beds.
Please do not tan right before your wax. This will dehydrate your skin and may irritate your skin more.
* Avoid applying high SPF sunblocks to the waxed area for 12-24 hours after the waxing service. Sunscreen chemicals can
be irritating to newly waxed skin. This includes self-tanning products and tan accelerators. A better choice for SunScreen
is Sun Tegrity SPF 30.
